Why it’s necessary
Since September 2026, eduki requires Authors to declare whether AI tools were used to create a material. This is partly required under the EU AI Act (Article 50), which mandates machine-readable labelling for AI-generated images and deepfakes. For other types of AI usage declaration is an eduki platform requirement, reflecting our commitment to responsible and transparent AI practices on the platform.
What has changed
A new question has been added to the Bibliography step — the final step of the upload flow:
"Did you use AI tools to create this material?"
- No, I did not use any AI tools
- Yes, I used AI tools
If "Yes" is your answer, please specify what the AI was used for (select all that apply):
- AI-generated text
- AI images — non-realistic
- AI images — realistic or deepfake
- Other AI content
Your declaration is recorded. Only AI images — non-realistic and AI images — realistic or deepfake are used for hidden, machine-readable compliance metadata — text and other AI content are recorded but not machine-tagged, as this isn't legally required.
In addition: declare AI usage within your material
The upload declaration is a platform-level compliance step. It does not replace the obligation to disclose AI usage within the material itself.
If you used AI tools to create any part of your material, you must also indicate this in your material's sources — for example:
"Text generated with ChatGPT"
"Images created with Midjourney"
"Worksheet partially created with eduki AI Tools"
This applies regardless of which AI category you selected in the upload declaration. The two steps are separate and both required.
Do I need to declare this for materials I have already uploaded?
Yes. If you have previously uploaded materials that contain AI-generated content, you are responsible for updating your declaration.
Is the AI Declaration field mandatory?
Yes — you must actively select an answer; it cannot be skipped.
What if my material only partially uses AI (e.g. one AI-generated image)?
Declare based on what's actually included — if there's a realistic AI image or deepfake anywhere in the material, even alongside otherwise original content, select that category.
Will this influence my ranking?
No — declaring AI use has no impact on search ranking or visibility.
I've used AI but I still review my material — do I need to flag it?
Yes. The declaration is based on whether AI tools were used at any point in creating the material.
Who holds responsibility if a material is not correctly tagged?
As the declaring author, you are responsible for the accuracy of your declaration.
What is eduki's position toward materials solely created with AI?
eduki welcomes materials that include AI-generated content, provided they are correctly declared and meet our quality standards. Materials that are fully AI-generated are subject to the same quality review as all other materials — what matters most to us, and to buyers, is the quality and that materials are genuinely useful and classroom-tested.
